Work-Life Balance: Why We Foster It and How It Benefits Our Clients
At Mid-Atlantic Media Hub, our work model is different than what you might expect from your average media firm. We’re a full-service agency that works with businesses and organizations in a wide variety of industries. Based on the scope of some of the media campaigns we have worked on, you might envision us working from a large, corporate office with employees at their desks from 9-5. However, we’ve strategically chosen a very different work environment, and while it offers some unique benefits to us, it also benefits our clients.
Our team consists of our president, Tom; our media director, Jamie; our client services manager, Cammi; and our PR consultant, Stephanie. Rather than taking on the overhead of a traditional office setting, we all work remotely – often from home, but also from coffee shops, cafes or on location with clients. The flexibility and freedom of our schedule, combined with an efficient team model, helps us deliver the best customer service. Here’s why!
Community Involvement
Our agency model allows us to be more involved in our communities. We’re active parents who are involved with Little League, the school board and who frequently volunteer. Because of our flexible and adaptable work schedule, we can balance work responsibilities with family activities. Also, as we are out and about in the community, we are always forming new relationships with area businesses. This has allowed us to form an extensive network of professionals that we often call upon to serve our clients in various ways.
Simplified Client Relationships
When you work with us, you’re most often communicating with a single point of contact. At larger agencies, you might have the confusion and inefficiency of working through many different contacts all serving your account. Because our team acts as your account executive, strategist, media buyer, facilitator, and more, you have a streamlined communication channel.
This also means we are accessible just about 24 hours a day and can get our clients factual answers on any questions they may have within minutes, or at most in a few hours versus the turnaround time of a traditional ad agency. We pride ourselves on being extremely responsive to our clients.
Immersive Market Research
Working from home, we strategically have the television and radio on in the background. More than just entertainment, this is just one of the ways in which we stay on top of market trends. We monitor the advertisements on various stations to understand changes in the market and also what ads other businesses are running.
Working remotely also gives us the time and flexibility to meet with our media sales reps regularly and attend training to make sure that we are always in the know about new trends and media opportunities. This allows us to be innovative and always bring new ideas into the mix for our clients.
Low Overhead
Office space can be one of the most expensive items in a budget for any business. Because we choose to work from home or in public spaces, we don’t have the overhead of office space. This cost-savings is passed on to our clients. When you work with Mid-Atlantic Media Hub, you benefit from the efficiency of our business model. Not being confined to office space also means we can choose the work environment that best cultivates our creativity. That varies from person to person and can’t often be matched in a single-style office space.
Flexibility and Freedom
The flexibility and freedom of our agency model means we have time during the day to handle normal life activities, like going to the grocery story, the gym, or children’s activities, putting us out in the local market where we can monitor outdoor advertisements. We also have more time on our hands to see what companies are doing socially to better understand our local competition. All of this benefits our clients because we are more informed and more self-satisfied on a personal level.
Because we don’t have a set 9-5 schedule, we typically plug in and work for an hour or two on the weekends when needed. In return, if we have all tasks accounted for on a weekday and want to spend the afternoon doing something unrelated to work, we can do that too.
The best part of our work flow is that every day feels like a Friday to us. This passion and excitement for what we do directly flows into the work we produce for our clients!
